Bruce William Boxleitner (born May 12, 1950) is an American actor, and writer of science fiction and suspense. He is known for his leading role in the television series How West Was Won , Bringing 'Em Back Alive , Scarecrow and Mrs. King (with Kate Jackson), and Babylon 5 (as John Sheridan in season 2-5, 1994-98).

He is also known for his double role as the characters of Alan Bradley and Tron in Walt Disney Pictures 1982 Tron , the role he changed in the 2003 video game Tron 2.0 , the 2006 crossover game Square -Enix/Disney Kingdom Hearts II , movie sequel 2010, Tron: Legacy and serial animations Tron: Uprising . He starred in most of the movie Gambler with Kenny Rogers, whose characters provided comic help.

Boxleitner was born in Elgin, Illinois, the son of a certified public accountant. She attended Prospect High School in Mount Prospect, Illinois, and Goodman Theater School of Drama from Art Institute of Chicago (later renamed The Theater School at DePaul University).

Boxleitner is best known for his leading role in the television series How West Was Won , Bringing 'Em Back Alive , Scarecrow and Mrs. King (with Kate Jackson and Beverly Garland), and Babylon 5 (as John Sheridan in season 2-5, 1994-98).

He also starred in The Gambler (like Billy Montana , with Kenny Rogers: 1980, 1983 and 1987) and in a TV movie like Judith Krantz's Till We Meet Again < i> and Danielle Steel Zoya . In 2005, he starred as Captain Martin Duvall at Young Blades . He also starred in several films in the universe of Babylon 5, including Babylon 5: In the Beginning (TV, 1998), Babylon 5: Thirdspace Babylon 5: A Call to Arms (TV, 1999), and direct-to-DVD Babylon 5: The Lost Tales (2007).

He has appeared on many other TV shows, including appearances in 1973 as Rick Welsh, University of Minnesota Track Star, in a four-season episode, "I'm Giving in the Office" at The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Other appearances include Gunsmoke , Stories from Crypt , Touched by Angels , Outer Boundaries and She Sheies, and in 1982, she played Chase Marshall on Bare Essence, with Genie Francis. He is a member of the Heroes players for seasons three and four, playing New York Governor Robert Malden in three episodes. She also appeared on the Chuck television series as the father of Devon Woodcomb. She is in films made for television such as The Secret Hope Ranch , Falling in Love with Next Door Girl , Pandemic , Sharpshooter and Aces' n Eights .

Boxleitner was a guest star at NCIS in the fall of 2010. He played as Vice Admiral C. Clifford Chase, a Navy officer. Boxleitner also lends her voice to an animated version of her iconic Tron character in the animated series Tron: Uprising. The series airs on Disney XD on June 7, 2012. He also brings back Alan Bradley/Tron characters from Tron and Tron: Legacy. From 2013-2015, he plays Bob Beldon, owner of a local bed and breakfast, in the Hallmark Channel series of Cedar Cove.

She also appeared in several movies, including Tron (where she played the title role) and The Baltimore Bullet (1980) with James Coburn. He changed his role in the Tron Tron: Legacy and in the Tron: Evolution video game released with the movie Tron: Legacy , as he did for a sequel video game called Tron 2.0 , and the crossover Disney/Square Enix Kingdom Hearts II . Boxleitner also voiced as Colonel John Konrad in the Spec Ops: The Line video game. He also starred as Confederate General James Longstreet in the 2003 movie god and general. He provides Colin Barrow's voice in the animated science fiction horror film Dead Space: Downfall, based on the Dead Space video game . Other movies she has included include Kuffs , Si Babe , Brilliant , Snakehead Terror , The Legion of the Dead , the King of the Lost World , Shadows in Heaven and Transmorphers: Fall of Man . In 2011 he officially announced that he will re-enact his role as Alan Bradley/Tron at Tron 3 . July 2015 Boxleitner says that he finished with the franchise, because "it's been too up and down for me, I prefer not to continue, I do not want to repeat my career again."

Personal life

The first marriage of Boxleitner (1977-1987) was for American actress Kathryn Holcomb, who starred in along with How The West Was Won . They have two sons: Sam (born 1980) and Lee (born 1985). Holcomb went on to marry British actor Ian Ogilvy.

The second marriage of Boxleitner (1995-2011) is for American actress Melissa Gilbert. They have one son: Michael (born 1995). Gilbert also guested as the screen wife of Boxleitner, Anna Sheridan, during Season 3 of Babylon 5 . On March 1, 2011, Gilbert announced that he and Bruce had split up after 16 years of marriage. On August 25 of the same year, the Associated Press reported that, based on court records, Gilbert filed for divorce.

On February 8, 2016, Boxleitner and his girlfriend for three years, publicist Verena King, announced their engagement. On October 5, 2016, they got married at Kapolei on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.

In 2003, Boxleitner was appointed as the Board of Governors of the National Space Society, an educational nonprofit advocacy organization founded by Dr. Wernher von Braun.

She befriended the actress Beverly Garland for almost 30 years. She met him on the episode of How The West Was Won , and then starred alongside him at Scarecrow & amp; Mrs. King , though he has a little scene with him. Then, in 1986, Boxleitner presented Garland the Golden Boot Award. After the cancellation of Scarecrow, Boxleitner remained close to Garland, contacting him consistently, until his death, on December 5, 2008.
