In 2004, Western Pest Services was acquired by Rollins Inc. and changed from private company to public company. Prior to the acquisition, Western Pest Services was ranked 8th as the largest company in the industry.
Western Western name
J.E. Sameth considers several names, including Eastern, Western, National and Federal. Sameth named the company by removing the "West" name from the hat.
Brand evolution
- West started off with a cowboy and cowgirl brand. This is a natural tie with the company name.
- In the 1950s, the cowgirl was dropped, and they left with "cowboy branding". Also, he went from "Western Exterminator Co." for "Western Termites and Pest Control."
- In the 1970s they dropped cowboys and left with the brand image of "hockey sticks".
- In the 1980s "caring people, caring solutions" were added.
- In the 1990s a blue background was tried
- In 2005 they switched to their current corporate branding
