Family business
In 1995, Jay Pritzker, founder of Hyatt, resigned and Thomas Pritzker took over The Pritzker Organization. When Jay died in 1999, the family split the business into 11 pieces worth $ 1.4 billion apiece, but had to settle the lawsuit from two family members who apparently received $ 500 million each in 2005. In 2011, the dissolution had been finished and the cousins ââhave gone their separate ways, with some pursuing pursuits and others pursuing philanthropic or artistic endeavors.
