Jeffrey A. Rosen is an American lawyer currently serving as Deputy Transport Minister of the United States. Before taking on his current role, he is a senior partner at Kirkland & amp; Ellis.

Education

Rosen graduated from Northwestern University with B.A. in economics in 1979. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, accepting J.D. in 1982.

Careers

Rosen joins Kirkland & amp; Ellis in 1982. He left the company in 2003 and started working for the US government. From 2003 to 2006, Rosen is general counsel at the US Department of Transportation and acts as advisor to the Secretary of Transport Norman Mineta. In 2006, Rosen moved into the Office of Management and Budget where she became general counsel and senior policy adviser until 2009. She also serves as a representative of the US government on Amtrak's board of directors.

Rosen returns to Kirkland & amp; Ellis in 2009. From 2015 to 2016, Rosen chaired the American Bar Association's Administrative and Regulatory Section.

On May 16, 2017, Rosen was confirmed as Deputy Minister of Transportation of the United States with a vote of 56-42.
